Management Team

SLMC's management team is responsible for all aspects of the company's management of its properties and services in accordance to the investment strategy

Chapman Seah Yen Kwei
Chief Executive Officer

Chapman Seah is Chief Executive Officer of Sim Lian – Metro Capital Pte Ltd (“SLMC”). He has overall responsibility for management, operations and growth of SLMC’s business. He has been instrumental in executing value enhancement strategies, acquisitions and capital raising for the office and retail portfolio across Australia for over 6 years, and has also scaled up the core capabilities of the asset and investment management teams to further drive sustainable returns for investors.

Chapman has over 20 years of real estate experience across Asia Pacific markets covering investments, asset management, capital management and research.

Prior to joining SLMC, he spent over 11 years with the Mapletree Group where he served as Co-Head, Asset Management & Investments of Mapletree Commercial Trust Management Ltd. He was responsible for investments and asset management of commercial properties in Singapore, and played a key role in numerous equity fundraising amounting to over S$2 billion, including the successful listing of Mapletree Commercial Trust on the mainboard of the SGX-ST. Before this, Chapman was Vice President at Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd where he was responsible for the management of a pan-Asian private equity real estate mezzanine fund and has delivered strong total returns for the fund upon realisation of its investments. Before joining Mapletree, Chapman held various positions in the areas of REIT management, real estate banking & finance, and corporate planning at ARA Asset Management Ltd, DBS Bank Ltd and CapitaLand Ltd.

Chapman holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with First Class Honours from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Yap Fui Wui
Chief Financial Officer

Fui Wui is Chief Financial Officer of the Company and is responsible for the Company and Portfolio’s finance functions. He oversees all matters relating to finance, treasury, tax and all corporate matters.

Prior to 2017, he spent over 11 years with Prologis Singapore, where he was overseeing the real estate funds’ finance of China and Japan as well as the real estate operations in Singapore. He was also actively involved in the formation of China funds at Prologis. Before Prologis, Fui Wui was with ARA Asset Management Limited where he covered the areas of finance and reporting at Fortune REIT, and he was also actively involved in the REIT’s fundraising exercise.

Fui Wui started his career in audit, where he undertook various roles at local and international firms including Ernst & Young. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“FCCA”) and a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

Ivor Phillips
Senior Vice President (Head of Asset & Investment Management)

Ivor is Senior Vice President (Head of Asset & Investment Management) based in Brisbane, Australia. He has over 20 years of experience in the Australian property industry covering asset management, development, leasing and capital transactions and has been managing the portfolio for over 4 years.

Prior to joining SLMC, Ivor was Head of Retail Property at Walker Corporation - Collins Square in Melbourne where he was responsible for strategic leasing and resetting the retail design and direction of the retail precinct. Before that, Ivor worked at Charter Hall Group as Regional Manager (Retail) for 7 years across various property portfolios and states covering asset management, acquisitions and development. In his time at Charter Hall Group, he has taken 3 retail centres through the asset cycle from purchase through to development (Brickworks, LansellSquare and Southgate Plaza) as well as being responsible for 3 centre management teams. In addition, he was also directly involved in over $1.6 billion of acquisitions and disposals.

Before Charter Hall, Ivor was National Leasing Manager and Senior Asset Manager of ANZ Bank for 3 years and prior to that, he has also worked for a number of the institutional landlords in Australia such as Westfield, Lend Lease and GPT on some key assets including the development of Westfield Doncaster in Victoria.

He has been a member of the Property Council of Australia Committee since 2008, most recently the Retail Training and Professional Committee, and the Asset Management Committee for New South Wales.
